Online freight marketplace enables instant rate comparison, booking for shippers

Shippers may want to check out a free global online marketplace for the international shipping industry where they can instantly search rates from several international logistics providers.

Freightos.com is an online freight platform helping importers and exporters reduce logistics spend and save time with instant comparison, booking, and management of air, ocean, and land shipments from logistics providers.

Freightos launched the online marketplace in 2016, providing shippers a single platform where they can input the specifications (dates, points of origin and destination, goods’ weight and volume, etc.) and receive the price quotes.

The company said that Freightos.com essentially “brings the logistics industry into the digital era, making global shipping faster, cheaper and smooth.”

A Freightos official said the company’s technology provides transparency to root out overpayments, saving shippers up to 30%, and is used by some of the world’s top freight forwarders.

Rates are provided in seconds, and include the forwarding company, shipping mode and price. Shipments can be booked instantly online and there are no additional fees or surcharges. Users can manage shipments, track progress, and communicate with their forwarder through the platform.

The Freightos.com marketplace provides shippers a number of benefits. It allows users to instantly compare air, ocean and trucking freight quotes from several forwarders and carriers.

It also provides “total visibility and control across every shipment” through on-demand tracking, live updates, and an issue resolution mechanism.

Joining the platform is free. After signing up, the user’s account is activated and the shipper can start instantly searching rates from logistics providers, book, and manage his shipment.

The first step is to indicate what is being shipped, whether boxes/crates or pallets, how many, and dimensions and weight of each box/crate or pallet.

The shipper then provides the origin location type for the pickup of goods, which could be a factory/warehouse, port/airport, business or residential; the origin country/region; and the city/zip code.

The next step is to indicate any requirements for customs brokerage and additional services, insurance and other additional details as necessary.

After the user inputs the specifications, the platform’s algorithm will find the right route, provider and price quote for all of his ocean, air, rail or trucking shipments.

Support is available 24/7 by email, phone and chat.
