TIEZA accepts online application for travel tax exemption certificate

Exporters joining international trade, fairs, exhibitions and selling missions endorsed by the Export Development Council can apply online for their travel tax exemption certificate (TEC).

The Tourism Infrastructure and Enterprise Zone Authority (TIEZA) is accepting online applications for TEC, making it easier for traveling exporters to get this certificate.

Exporters shall file their application for travel tax exemption at the authorized recommending agencies which include the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), Department of Trade and Industry-Export Marketing Bureau, Bureau of International Trade Relations (BITR) and Philippine Exporters Confederation Inc. (PHILEXPORT) for endorsement to EDC.

An endorsement from the EDC is a requirement for securing TEC.

Exporters can file an online application for the issuance of the TEC, which can be found on the TIEZA website. Once granted, they can print the certificate from anywhere.

They also have an option to get the TEC at the TIEZA Office.

In applying for the online release of TEC, a clear scanned copy in either PDF or JPG format needs to be prepared: 2×2 identification picture taken within the last six months (JPG only), identification page of passport, and airline ticket or flight booking.

All TEC applications submitted online are processed within three working days from the date of submission of complete documentary requirements, in accordance with Republic Act 11032 or the Ease of Doing Business and Efficient Government Service Delivery Act of 2018.

An email notification will be sent to them about their online TEC application status.
